Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation

Overview

Since forming a partnership in 2010, Good Sports and the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF) have provided athletic and fitness equipment donations that remove barriers for youth throughout the state of Georgia to participate in regular physical activity.  For every grant dollar provided by the Foundation during that time, Good Sports has worked to provide more than $2 worth of equipment.

Now in our eighth year of partnership, we have teamed up to provide equipment donations valued at over $1,380,000 which have impacted more than 110,000 kids.  Currently, our donations have had the following impact:

Testimonials

“Thanks to the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation and Good Sports our athletes have new uniforms that will be used by various sports.  Without the donation we would not have had the funds to purchase these uniforms by ourselves for the next couple of years.  Now the athletes feel more like champions because they are wearing something they are proud of.”

– Physical Education Instructor, Appling County Middle School

“The grants we have received from Good Sports and the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation we were able to increase the number of helmets in our inventory.  The donation reduced participation costs for 40 of our athletes.”

– Head Coach, Riverdale High School football

“As MLL has expressed in the past, new equipment and apparel give our inner city kids a renewed sense of pride. Particularly when we play teams from other parks who are more financially situated. Additionally, we are not subject to embarrassment at tournaments for being singled out in good faith by officials for having unsafe equipment. We have had to borrow equipment from other teams in the past.”
