Assisting our supporters with spreading joy for the season, Good Sports and the DJ Dream Fund teamed up from December 5, 2011- December 16, 2011 for an online holiday auction. We auctioned off a number of authentic items to help support our missions to supply sports equipment and user fee scholarships to youth living in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Bidders raced to the finish line to win hot ticket items such as a 1 week stay at Arenas Del Mar Beachfront and Rainforest Resort in Costa Rica, a Red Sox fan experience including a VIP tour of Fenway Park, a viewing of the batting practice from the warning track and 4 tickets to a 2012 game, sports memorabilia and much more!
Much of the success goes out to WEEI for assisting with the promotion of the event, our donors and supporters. Thank you all for allowing us to give more children a chance to participate in sports and get in the game!
3rd Annual Girls Night Out
A night filled of pampering, holiday shopping and a great time with close friends and co-workers is more than any girl could ask for. On November 3, 2011, Good Sports hosted our 3rd Annual Girls’ Night Out event which was a major success. Our silent auction featured an amazing selection of items such as a BOSE VideoWave Entertainment System, a vacation getaway to Riviera Maya, Mexico for two from Jet Blue Airlines, a relaxing spa package from Joi Salon, an autographed framed picture of the Bruins with an encasement of the melted ice from the rink where they won the Stanley Cup and several other packages filled with lots of enticing items. Guests were also able to browse through a selection of jewelry and clothing from our participating vendors. The success of this event could not have been achieved without the help from our sponsors and wonderful Host Committee. Our sincere gratitude goes out to them as well as the guests who attended and helped to support our mission!
2nd Annual Good Sports Golf Tournament
Beautiful views, a remarkable golf course, incredible auction items, and delicious food! On September 19th, the 2nd annual Good Sports Golf Tournament at Granite Links Golf Course was a huge success as players engaged a nice day away from the office on one of the top 100 courses in the country where the
public can play. Participants enjoyed a pleasant lunch buffet after their round of golf and mingled with other players while browsing through the silent auction. Items such as a Rob Gronkowski autographed football, a Tim Thomas autographed photo, and a Jim Rice autographed Fenway blueprint were some of the main attractions. To top it off, the winner of the raffle won a hockey stick signed by the entire 2010-2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins! The event could not have taken place without our sponsors. And a huge thank you goes out to all of our golfers!
8th Annual Legends of the Ball Boston
Hundreds of Good Sports supporters turned out to celebrate at the 8th annual Legends of the Ball on June 2nd. The event featured incredible one-of-a-kind auction items, food from some of the city’s best restaurants, and an awesome performance by Crash Midnight! Good Sports honored the Boston Celtics, Nomar Garciaparra, GEICO and Brockton Youth Football for their work in helping keep local community organizations strong. The event was hosted by NESN’s Tom Caron and WEEI’s Glen Ordway and, thanks to the sponsors and the attendees, will go a long way toward making sure that thousands of kids across the country can Get In The Game.
3rd Annual Legends of the Ball Chicago
The 3rd Annual Legends of the Ball Chicago was a tremendous success. Former Chicago professional athletes, corporate executives and media partners gathered at Nacional 27 for a great evening of food, music and wonderful silent auction. Items such as a Derrick Rose signed jersey, Chicago Blackhawks Player for a Day Experience, hotel stays, sporting event tickets were just a few of the highlighted items for the evening. A special thanks to everyone who attended and created the chance for more kids to play sports!
2nd Annual Bags for a Cause
The 2nd Annual Bags for A Cause Event was held on Thursday, October 28 at Cubby Bear Wrigleyville in partnership with The Chicago Blackhawks. A great time was had by all as many played Bags for a chance to win a 2010-11 signed team jersey courtesy of the Blackhawks. In addition, once in a lifetime auction items were up for bid such as a Cubs Dream Day including a signed Ernie Banks bat, Blackhawks tickets and an signed Derrick Rose jersey. A special thanks to all who attended for giving the youth of Chicago a chance to lead healthy and active lifestyles!
