With all the initiatives out there to get kids active, why are more kids than ever still sitting on the sidelines?

Before we blame screens and unlimited data plans, the facts actually point to something else entirely different: socioeconomics. Yes, kids are separated from their peers by the finances their families have, or don’t have. It’s creating a long lasting divide where more children are finding themselves watching sports, rather than being a part of it.

So, we have the kids who come with the privilege to play, and then we have those who simply can’t afford league fees, nevermind equipment. We call them “The Haves” and “The Have Nots.” It’s time we got them all to play together. Get to know the facts.
