Frequently Asked Questions for our Donors

Still have questions about making a donation? Please review our Donor FAQs below.

Can I donate equipment, apparel and footwear?

While we do accept equipment donations from certified equipment manufacturers, we do not accept new or used sports equipment from individual donors due to logistical challenges in distributing matching equipment to organizations. Monetary donations allow us to better match our grantees with equipment they have requested.

Can I choose a specific organization to support?

Because each organization must first complete an application and undergo a review process in order to be approved to receive an equipment grant, we are unable to accept monetary donations that target a specific organization.

Can I make a donation on behalf of someone?

Yes. On our Donor Form, there is a section specifically dedicated to tribute donations.

Can I make a gift of appreciated securities to Good Sports?

Yes. Good Sports can accept stocks and bonds. Please direct your inquiry to Kim Herrig, Financial Controller, at kherrig@goodsports.org.

My company matches 501(c)3 donations. Is Good Sports eligible to receive this type of match?

Yes. The IRS recognizes Good Sports as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. All donations made to Good Sports are tax deductible. After making a donation online, you will receive an automatic onscreen acknowledgement. In approximately 6-8 weeks after making your donation, you will receive a tax receipt by mail.

What methods of payment can I use?

You may donate online via PayPal or by mailing a check payable to Good Sports, Inc., 1515 Washington Street, Suite 300, Braintree, MA 02184.

What is Good Sports’ tax ID number?
