Purpose of this Toolkit

We strongly encourage our supporters to share and amplify Good Sports on their organization’s platforms, and on personal profiles, with the help of the materials and sample posts provided below. The objectives for this promotional activity are to:

  • Make new audiences aware of Good Sports and our mission
  • Encourage people to learn how they can get involved in our organization

While supporters are welcome to share the content provided below by Good Sports, we also encourage supporters to share their own stories and photos if comfortable doing so.

How I Can Help

Posting to Social Media

  1. Follow us on social media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  2. Share one of the images below to your personal or organization’s social media platforms. Along with the image, copy and paste the suggested social copy below or develop your own customized posts to share out the content.
Note: Instagram does not support hyperlinks in caption. To share a link on Instagram, you must add the link into your Bio (Click “Edit Profile” to add a website URL). Then, direct your followers to the link by adding “Click the link in my bio to learn more!” to your caption.
  3. Engage with Good Sports on social media via your personal or organizational accounts.

Add a Donation Sticker to Your Instagram Story

An additional way to show support for Good Sports, is to raise money using the donation sticker in Instagram stories. Here’s how to set up a donation on Instagram using Instagram stories:

  1. Open the Instagram app.
  2. Tap the camera icon in the upper left-hand corner to open story mode.
  3. Take a photo or video by pressing the white capture button located at the bottom of the screen. You can also tap the small square in the lower left-hand corner to upload a photo or video you’ve already saved. You can use one of the photos we’ve provided below.
  4. Once your background is set, tap the square smiley face icon in the top menu bar or swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
  5. Scroll through the featured stickers and select “Donation.”
  6. A list of suggested charities will pop up. Use the search bar to type in “Good Sports.”
  7. Once you’ve selected Good Sports, you can customize the text or change the color of the donation box by tapping the circular color palette at the top of your story screen.
  8. Tap “Done” in the upper-right hand corner.
  9. Once back on the story draft, place the sticker wherever you’d like on your story.
  10. Add the photo or video to your Instagram story by selecting the “Your Story” icon at the bottom of the screen.
  11. To see how much money you’ve raised, swipe up on the story.

Note: Instagram does not take a percentage of the money raised. 100% of money raised through the donation sticker will go directly to Good Sports.

The world of youth sports has split into two groups: the “haves” and “have nots.” While some families have the ability to afford sports gear, leagues, and travel costs – many do not. Consequently, their kids are left behind on the sidelines. That is why I am a proud supporter of Good Sports, national nonprofit that drives equitable access in youth sports and physical activity, by supporting children in high-need communities to achieve their greatest potential, on the field and in life.
