The Chicago Bears, Good Sports, and the NFL Foundation joined forces this May to deliver both essential sports equipment and unforgettable experiences to young athletes across Chicago, supporting three local programs and impacting 271 youth.
Through this collaboration, nearly $37,500 worth of brand-new football equipment—including cleats, padded pants, shoulder pads, girdles, footballs, helmets, and mouth guards—was distributed to the University Park Youth Athletic Association, Chicago Blitz Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization, and Bowen High School.
But the impact extended far beyond the gear.
Throughout May, the Chicago Bears hosted a series of dynamic, high-energy clinics, where young athletes stepped onto the field for hands-on training led by the Bears. The events were filled with excitement, learning, and inspiration as participants developed their skills, built confidence, and connected directly with the game—and the role models—they love.
From first drills to final huddles, the clinics created lasting memories and reinforced the power of sport to unite, motivate, and open doors.
“We’re so grateful to continue to make life-changing impact with the NFL Foundation and for the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears. These donations showcase what it means to truly believe in play for all, and we can’t wait to see how these young athletes continue to thrive on and off the field,” said Good Sports’ co-founder and CEO, Melissa Harper.
“Tackling barriers to participation and creating greater access to sport remains an important part of the Chicago Bears’ commitment to supporting youth across our communities,” said Tanesha Wade, Chicago Bears Executive Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion & Chief Impact Officer. “Through our continued partnership with Good Sports and the NFL Foundation, we are proud to help provide young athletes across Chicagoland with the equipment, mentorship and opportunities needed to feel supported, empowered and inspired through the game.”
This initiative is part of a broader partnership between Good Sports and the NFL Foundation, which is working to increase access to youth football nationwide. By connecting Good Sports with NFL teams across the league, the two are delivering critical sports gear directly to high-need communities ensuring more kids have the chance to play, grow, and thrive through sport.
For the 271 young athletes who participated, the experience was about more than football. It was about feeling seen, supported, and inspired to pursue their potential both on and off the field.
