Stock donations are an effective and efficient way to make a donation to Good Sports. Good Sports’ finance department will provide the needed information to make a transfer. Next, you will contact your broker and request a “broker to broker” transfer to donate the stock directly to Good Sports.
Your broker can then transfer the securities directly to the Good Sports’ account. It is important that the securities be transferred to Good Sports account prior to being sold in order to avoid capital gains taxation. Once Good Sports receives the donation, you will receive a tax receipt with details about the gift.
