Glossier’s donation is part of Good Sports’ ‘She Who Plays’ initiative and will bring new sports equipment and gear to five girls’ basketball programs throughout the country
BOSTON, Mass. (April 2025) – Good Sports, a national nonprofit leader in youth sports equity, announced a partnership with Glossier, the official beauty partner of the WNBA, to help donate over $20,000 of new sports equipment and apparel to young female athletes around the country. Glossier’s donation will enrich five girls’ basketball programs in high-need communities across Los Angeles, New York City and Boston, further cultivating opportunities for young women to stay in the game.
“At Glossier, we celebrate beauty in real life and are committed to working with organizations like Good Sports that embody this philosophy,” said Kyle Leahy, CEO of Glossier. “We want to continue supporting the next generation of female athletes and that starts with ensuring all young women have the chance to play and stay in sports, a cause Good Sports has been championing for more than 20 years.”
Since its launch in 2021, Good Sports’ She Who Plays initiative enrolled 57,000 girls in sports programming, launched 418 new girls’ sports teams and delivered $11.6 million in girl-specific sports equipment donations.
“We are incredibly grateful for Glossier’s generous donation, which reinforces our shared commitment to empowering young women through sports,” said Christy Keswick, President and Co-Founder of Good Sports. “Playing sports can be expensive and no one should be left on the sidelines due to lack of resources – donations like Glossier’s mean more opportunities to play for young girls who need it most.”
Providing much-needed resources to youth to keep them in sports is central to Good Sports’ mission and the need is more critical than ever. According to a Good Sports/Harris Poll survey*, 75% of parents have considered pulling their children out of sports, with more than 1 in 5 (21%) citing the unsustainable cost of participating as a reason why.
To combat this, ‘She Who Plays’ aims to inspire potential athletes and foster an inclusive community that actively supports girls and ensures their comfort and dignity in sports.
This partnership celebrates and highlights Glossier’s pioneering spirit and role as a leader in integrating beauty with sports across all levels. Good Sports is proud to work with brands committed to supporting women’s sports and demonstrating that beauty encompasses strength, determination and courage to pursue one’s passion. About Good Sports
Good Sports is a national nonprofit driving equitable access in youth sports and physical activity by supporting children in high-need communities to achieve their greatest potential, on the field and in life. Economic limitations are the biggest barriers to play. To address this issue, Good Sports builds a bridge between two complementary yet vastly different industries within the sports world – the grassroots, youth sports community, and the global $82 billion sporting goods industry.
