The Washington Mystics and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation are teaming up with Good Sports to outfit girls basketball organizations across the DMV for their Winter 2026/2027 basketball season. Donations will be tailored to fit the uniform needs of the organization. Grants are extremely limited.
In order to be considered, the organization must meet the criteria below and submit an application by Friday, August 28, 2026.
If you have applied previously, Good Sports may reach out to you directly to make a donation in connection to the Washington Mystics.
Please note that the criteria for a Washington Mystics/Good Sports grant is the following:
- Your organization directly serves girls between the ages of 3-18 years old.
- Your organization serves youth in high need communities.
- Your organization charges a participation fee of $299 or below.
- Your organization provides consistent access to basketball programming for girls.
- Your organization is located in the DMV.
- Schools Only: Your school does not charge a tuition and more than half of the student body must be eligible for free/reduced lunch.
If you are approved but not selected for this specific opportunity, Good Sports can still assist you. The approval status lasts for two years and you can make multiple equipment requests.

Washington Mystics Her Colors. Their Game. Their Confidence.
Supporting girls basketball programs with the resources they deserve — starting with uniforms designed for confidence, comfort, and pride.
- Through the new Mystics Her Colors grant program, under-resourced girls basketball teams can apply to receive uniform sets — basketball jerseys or wicking t-shirts paired with matching shorts — in a wide range of colors, including darker options that help players feel more comfortable and confident on the court. Uniforms include the team name and selected team colors, giving players a look that feels like theirs.
- And that matters. Research shows 64% of girls prefer darker-colored bottoms during play, often because lighter uniforms can create anxiety around sweat, stains, or menstrual visibility. Darker uniforms can help athletes feel more secure, more confident, and more focused on the game in front of them.
- Her Colors is about giving girls more choice, more comfort, and more confidence every time they step on the floor. Because when players feel supported — with uniforms that fit their needs and equipment that helps them compete — they play free, grow their love for the game, and stay in it. Because girls who play become women who lead.
